How Did We Get Here
If you go to Royal Seedbank, they offer over 700 different strains, but how did we get here? Astonishingly it all started with a solitary strain- the Eve of Cannabis, Hindu Kush. And its garden? Probably the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
As remote as this area was way back in history, travellers clearly saw its merit and spread seeds as they roamed- cold, arid, warm, dry, and wet areas. Changes in the environment caused those first transplanted seeds to evolve into a meager few strains that with the original Hindu Kush led to all we have today. These jet setters are Thai, Durban Poison, Acapulco Gold, Afghani, Hindu Kush, and Lamb’s Bread.
These six mothers (list not necessarily exhaustive) are some of the purest, least diluted by breeding, that we have in creating the kaleidoscope of strains now available. What colors of experience do these six bring to the fire of strain creation?
